The article by scientist turned journalist Caitlin Looby explores possible solutions, including ways to break down barriers between scientists, journalists and the public. Young children tend to be fascinated by science, but that love can become lost as they pass through the school system. Maybe a way to re-engage the public is to reignite a child-like enthusiasm for science?

My illustrations took their cue from the vintage factual books for children, the How And Why Wonder Books, and were painted in acrylic.
